Many river anglers find themselves in varying situations where circumstances can change around every bend of the river. We have developed an award winning line that is rated #2 to #5, yes its true, it is designed as a uni weight line to cast on a range of rods.
How you may ask?
It comes down to simple physics – as the new and refined components of this line combine to give the thinnest, most supple, weight forward profile possible, that weighs very little and delivers incredible stealth and accuracy at the same time.
The thin diameter creates hardly any drag when casting whatsoever. That means the line speed can be maintained throughout the casting action and delivers the fly/ flies precisely where required with the minimum effort possible. Even across a gale force wind this line has been used to great effect and will cut through into almost any breeze as its drag coefficient is so small.
The Thistledown was primarily designed for the river and light fishing on small still waters but is now a regular companion on almost any application where an angler enjoys finesse, stealth and accuracy. Thistledown is two-tone in colour, Shamrock Olive head with Buckskin running line and 90ft in total length. The head is quite short at just 34.5ft which has a long, compound front taper and slender running line behind for effortless casting and extended presentation, to attain whatever range is necessary. The ultra-thin profile, with a head diameter of just 0.65mm and running line of a mere 0.55mm, combined with the super-smooth Nano coating, helps maintain line speed, and if used for nymphing, can provide extreme sensitivity too. Both ends are pre-looped, with hand-whipped micro-loops, to maintain the line’s outstanding performance, so it is ready to go, straight from the box.
This line has proved ‘astounding’ to many so far, been on the receiving end of countless rave reviews since awarded Best New Fly Line in Europe at EFTTEX 2014 and production remains at full pace to keep up with demand!
